God Knows!

There is something exquisitely comforting, in a time of deep distress and things you don't understand,
to be reminded that
God knows.
Dave Wilkerson, in a past message shared more recently, shared the same thing from his own life:
that in a time of deep sorrow and distress, the only thing that really comforted him was that
God knew.
You can't hide anything from God.
You might be able to fool your parents or your children or your pastor or your friend
or even your spouse.
You can play hide and seek with others,
but God knows exactly where you are.
And that doesn't have to be frightening.
It can be incredibly comforting.
When your heart is split wide open, He knows.
When things aren't fair or just or pleasant,
He knows.

When you are just going around in some sort of vicious cycle,
and don't know how to tell the world to stop so you can get off,
He knows.
And when you feel like you've cracked because you dared to walk on thin ice,
He knows about that, too.
When there are those difficult mood swings,
He knows.
When you feel like a clay pigeon at which there are no end of pot shots being taken,
God knows.
When you know that you are just inches from the fire, and about to get your nose burnt another time,
God knows.
God also knows that it is only when your heart is split open wide
that He can take the seeds inside...
and put them into the dark, dark ground.
There they will die--
and bring forth new life.
An unbroken gourd cannot yield either seeds or fruit.
You must split it right in half, and cut it in pieces and apply the heat,
before it is much use--
except for steers to fight over.
And who wants to be an unbroken pumpkinhead
for steers to paw around and butt heads over?
