Yesterday I kept noticing some sort of sticky, stringy something that was caught on my hand or falling from my fingers. Was it a long hair or what?
Then something moving up my sleeve caught my attention!
It was a spider!
And not just a little one or a Daddy-Long-Legs. It was one of these big fat spiders like the one that has made its home by the window over our woodbox.
And being that it was within inches of my neck, I got just a wee bit frantic, and gasped to Jonathan who happened to be sitting right there at the breakfast table.
He swiped it off me, and it landed--right on the table!
I don't know if you can see the spider hanging by its web there in front of the table leg.
In fact, it WAS the very same spider that has been hanging in its web over our wood box, which no one has the heart to get rid of because it is harmless and likes to spin web and is just very interesting--
until you discover it on your shoulder crawling toward your skin!
That is when it gets a bit too close!
So Danny got the spider, I suppose on a pencil or stick, and put it back where it belonged on its web over the woodbox.
And then he collected dead flies from other window sills to feed it!
There is more than one spider that likes to climb up on our shoulder by our ear and surprise us with its tangling webs of lies.
"You aren't worth anything."
"God doesn't care about you."
"You probably aren't even a Christian anymore because you haven't felt anything for a long time--and plus look at all those people who have problems with you."

"What is the use of serving God?"
"Why bother taking care of your family? Why don't you just stay in bed?"
"Just kick up your feet and let the mess go. The messes belong to other people anyway."
(Yeah, I actually did catch this happening!)
You have to swipe the spider off your shoulder and put him back by the woodbox where he belongs.
"Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep?" I read that Jesus asked the Pharisees when they were watching him to find reasons to accuse him.
"Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'
"In all labor there is profit."
"Casting all your cares upon Him for He cares for you."
"The just shall live by faith," not by feelings.
These are good, Scriptural answers to the big, fat spider crawling up by the ears of tired moms.

Below is a link to a whole intriguing, amusing article by Dorcas Smucker,
She wrote: "Some of us are called to effect change like the apostles' preaching that roused and rankled whole cities, and some of us are called to work quietly behind the scenes, making tents and quietly explaining the way of God more perfectly, like Aquila and Priscilla...
However we go about it, it is a happy day when we know that we actually changed something for the better."
And then she writes how her answers to some nosy questions changed something for the better!
